The Family

The Origins

The story of a territory and the love of a family

Twenty years. It took twenty years to finish a huge job. The state of Villa Barberino in 1988, when two young and visionary newlyweds, Luciano and Tiziana Boni, purchased it, was unimaginable.

This young couple, married for a few years with two children, Filippo and Tommaso, and with the great help of their parents, Aramissa and Giuseppe Boni and Natalino and Tosca Gavilli, embarked on an incredible adventure, pursuing a single great dream with tenacity, willpower and passion: to restore life and dignity to Barberino a Meleto.

A journey full of excitement, difficulties, sacrifices and obstacles, which ultimately bore fruit and allowed the building to regain the charm and splendour it had lost over time.

Today, the Boni family manages the property and takes care of every detail.

Slowly over the years of abandonment the brambles, plants, trees, climbers, grasses, took up space between the stones and began a slow and frightening wear and tear, which in a few years completely hid the facades of the houses in the village.

Everything appeared green.

A jungle crept into the rooms, alleys, walls, farmyards.

The rain had seeped into the roofs, had torn open some points and the attics had given way due to the great humidity.

Inside, the collapsed roof tiles and beams had completely destroyed the entrances and covered everything.

Sacrifice upon sacrifice changed the fate of that abandoned place.

The simple and infinite beauty of art is hidden in the most secret corners, chasing the history of Barberino, blood and sacrifice, sharpness and smiles.
